Bihar State court i.e Patna court (situated in Bailey Road, Patna) was established on three Gregorian calendar months 1916 and affiliated the govt of Republic of India Act, 1915. It is headquartered in Patna, the executive capital of the state.

Proclamation was created by then Governor-General of Republic of India on the twenty second March, 1912 the territories of Bihar and Orissa that were subject to and enclosed inside the bounds of the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal, were promoted to the standing of a separate province, and by official document, dated the ninth Gregorian calendar month, 1916.
the Patna court was ushered into existence with Circuit sittings at Cuttack, and kind the twenty sixth Gregorian calendar month, 1916, the date on that the same official document was revealed within the Gazette of Republic of India, the court of Judicature at Fort William in Bengal ceased to exercise jurisdiction, Civil, Criminal, Admiralty, marital status, legal instrument and intestate, Enrolment, etc. altogether matters during which jurisdiction was given to the court of Judicature at Patna.
So the traditional town of Pataliputra had a court of its own in 1916 with Sir Edward Maynard Des Champs Chamier, Kt. Barrister-at-Law as its initial judge and Sarvashri Saiyid Sharfuddin, Barrister-at-Law, Edmund Pelly Chapman, I.C.S., Basant Kumar Mullick, I.C.S., Francis, Reginald Roe, I.C.S, Cecil Atkinson, barrister-at-Law and Jwala Prasad, B.A., LL.B., as Puisne Judges.
